Frequently Asked Questions
When Someone You Love Needs Care at Home, Questions Come With the Territory.
At Kind Care Services, we believe clarity is an essential part of comfort.
Whether you’re just beginning to explore home care options or already receiving support and looking for more, we’re here to provide honest, thoughtful answers that ease your mind.
Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions families ask us. If your question isn’t listed, don’t hesitate to contact us. Personal conversations are where trust begins.
What makes Kind Care Services different from other home care agencies?
Our approach is deeply personal. We’re a family-rooted team with over 20 years of caregiving experience and values shaped by respect, compassion, and dignity. Every caregiver is hand-selected for kindness, consistency, and cultural understanding. The end result is an unparalleled level of care for those we serve – the same quality of care we provide for our own family members.
What kind of care do you provide?
We offer a full range of non-medical home care services, including personal care, companionship, dementia and Alzheimer’s support, respite care, live-in care, and more. We also provide transportation and light housekeeping when included as part of a broader care plan.
What payment options do you accept?
Everyone’s situation is different, and we honor that. We accept private pay and long-term care insurance to cover the cost for the services you need, and we’re happy to help you explore your options. If you have questions about what your policy covers or how to get started, we’re here to walk through it with you.
How do you match caregivers with clients?
Caregiver matching is one of the most important things we do. We don’t just look at care needs; we consider language, personality, culture, communication style, and daily routines to help create matches that feel natural. We want every visit to feel familiar, comfortable, and truly supportive.
Do you provide care for people with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia?
Yes, we specialize in Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Our caregivers receive additional training in memory support, communication strategies, and safety monitoring. We focus on maintaining dignity, reducing confusion, and encouraging moments of joy and connection.
Is your care available around the clock?
Yes. We offer hourly, overnight, and live-in care depending on your needs. Some families need a few hours a week of support, while others may need full-time care at home. We’ll work with you to build a plan that fits. Reach out today so that we can discuss your care needs.
Do you offer respite care for family caregivers?
Absolutely. We know how much you’re doing, and how vital rest is to sustain it. Our respite care services give you the break you need while ensuring your loved one is in compassionate, capable hands.
What does the Kind Care Scholarship Program support?
The Kind Care Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to caregivers seeking further training, education, or support during life transitions. It’s part of our promise to care for the people who care for others.
Which areas do you serve?
We provide home care services in communities throughout Cook County, Kane County, and Lake County, including Evanston, Glenview, Highland Park, Wilmette, Winnetka, and throughout Chicago’s North Shore. You can view the full list on our Areas We Serve page.
